Description:
This is a full time, Direct Hire Prepress Production Artist opening. The shop in the Greenville does mostly customized work.
This is a position where 70% will be pre-press and 30% will be drafting. (They are willing to train on drafting as long as someone has strong Illustrator and/or Corel Draw experience.
Retrieves digital files and images (via email or client art websites) to complete preflight work needed for their successful processing and creation.
Communicates workload to assure files are processed as quickly and accurately as possible.
Assures quality of all digital files received or downloaded through established digital preflight processes.
Scans and processes customer art on desktop scanner
Prepare technical drawings and documentation for fabrication, assembly and installation processes.
Create bill of material (BOM) required for material procurement.
Assure that all work leaving the design department has been prepared according to customer approvals and fabrication specifications.
Interact with others to efficiently bring all processes of a project to
completion.
Additional Responsibilities:
Occasionally this position will overlap with conceptual design. There will be opportunity to offer input and make recommendations at this level.
Being in a small business environment it may be necessary to perform
duties outside this job description. Employee should be ready and willing
to contribute in whatever way necessary to ensure a quality and
efficient outcome to any process or project.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1-2 years prior experience and knowledge of programs such as CorelDraw, Illustrator, etc… (AutoCAD knowledge is helpful. If no experience, candidate must be willing to learn it.)
An attention to detail, excellent organizational skills.
Work independently and make sound, logical, decisions.
Hours:
First shift, M-F.
Pay:
15-17.00/hour
