Description:
This Appleton Company creates a lot of slings and hoists that are used to move larger items/products. They are seeking a temp to hire person to help learn to sew these large hoists. This is a friendly and good company to work for!
1. Accountable for sewing/fabricating nylon slings and assemblies so that products are made for quality. Review the work order, check the blueprint, measure and cut material that is needed, sew the slings together, document time and materials used, inspect and wrap products, and oversee accuracy.
2. Responsible for routine maintenance of sewing machinery (Will train)
3. Use safety procedures and occasionally work overtime
4. Keep area clean and neat - assist in other departments as needed
5. Assist in other duties as needed.
6. Obtain training and education as required to improve skills
Qualifications:
HS graduate or equivalency
Previous sewing experience from home or on the job is strongly preferred. (They may also consider those with assembly experience)
Must be able to read a tape measure and follow instructions
Must be able to do simple math calculations
Must be able to learn to read blueprints and follow drawings
Must have steel toes and be able to lift 50 pounds bend, and stand on concrete for extended periods of time.
Candidate will constantly use hand/wrist functions in sewing
Hours:
Monday - Friday 7:30-4:00pm, 4:30 (1/2 hour lunch)
Pay:
$10.00-$11.00 for candidate with some general sewing experience from at home or on job site. (They may consider a higher for more experienced candidates. Possible wage review as well within 3-6 months.) (benefits offered if hired on after 460 hours.)
