Description:
We have a temp-to-hire CAD position for busy and growing company in Oshkosh. They currently have 62 employees at this location and 1,000 corporate wide! This is a casual, yet very busy so this position is ideal for those that can multitask well.
POSITION SUMMARY
Sample laminated packaging, based on customer requirements, manufacturing capabilities, and material constraints. Works with the design staff in solving packaging related problems using a CAD system to model new designs. Services customer design requests and offers alternatives to design issues in accordance with service, quality, and efficiency standards by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.
Samples laminated and chipboard packaging using CAD table or other means of sampling.
Assists designers and supervisor with projects as assigned using CAD system.
Fills in all essential design information on container design/specification request forms.
Maintains department's laminated board inventory on a daily basis.
Operates and maintains computer sample maker/plotter.
Prepares samples for shipment to customers.
Layout carton designs in CAD for manufacturing
Order tooling for all die-cutting equipment
Maintains sales samples in sample retain area
Regular and reliable attendance.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Knows, understands, and follows all general rules and office policies and procedures.
Attends authorized training programs.
Responsible for maintaining appearance of design room.

Glue gun.

Qualifications:
2 year associates degree in design required. Individual must be able to operate a PC and have basic knowledge of CAD system; have excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills; legible handwriting to record information and fill out forms, ability to perform mathematical calculations involving adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions, decimals, and percentages; and integrity regarding confidential and proprietary information. They use ArtiosCAD, which is similar to AutoCAD but specializes in packaging.
Candidate must be able to also be do:
1. Frequent forward bending.
2. Frequent sitting and standing throughout 8 hour workday.
3. Occasional stair climbing.
4. Grip and hand coordination - constant use of various circumferences, strengths, and wrist positions to fabricate samples of packaging, and dexterity to operate and use hand tools and computer equipment.
5. Occasional lifting and carrying of laminated sheets - average 1-10#, not to exceed 75#.
Hours:
8am-4:30pm
Pay:
$13.00 to start. (Once hired, you could be increased to $15-16.00 with full benefits!) They are looking to hire on a candidate after January 1st.
