Description:
Our client in Oshkosh has a temp/hire opening on first shift for a Plating Operator.
Summary: This candidate will learn to perform electroplating operations to obtain various finish types involving standardized and prescribed tank methods in accordance with wastewater pretreatment regulations. Test, mix and maintain solutions, regulate current, agitation and temperature as directed. Responsible for safe chemical processing practices and proper handling techniques. Monitor inventory and notify purchasing when materials and supplies are needed. Required competencies include adaptability, teamwork and quality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Operate manual and crane-assisted tank lines
Follow procedures accurately and efficiently
Inspect product visually and with the use of gauges
Perform preventive maintenance tasks
Monitor and maintain all components of the line including power supplies, pumps, heaters, chemicals and water lines
Monitor bath parameters and notify lab personnel when not consistent
Complete chemistry additions and bath changes as prescribed
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
Assist lab personnel as required
Identify scrap and its causes
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area
Qualications
Drug testing and physical required before first day
Candidate must be comfortable working with chemicals.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Basic computer skills
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Hours:
This shift will either be 6am-2:30pm or 7am-3:30pm
Pay:
Starting pay is $10.00/hour. Then, it goes to $11.00/hr after 90 days and $12.00/hr after 1 year!
