Description:
This is a direct hire Customer Service Manager / Shop Manager position available in Appleton. This company of 25 employees is looking for a person who wants to learn and grow a company with new ideas and methods! This position involves a lot of coordinating, scheduling, working with customers, and problem solving skills to work with both new truck equipment and the service department. This company does all customized work. Initial Role and Objectives:

Efficiently manage the Shop, learning current procedures from foremen and owner
Prepare administrative duties:
Schedule jobs into shop
Expedite shop supplies
Prepare job cards
Manage chassis truck check in
Define Hydraulic needs, purchase and coordinate system layout
Complete Job Tracking
Complete job cards
Enter completed jobs into job cost summary
Learn key service issues on all product lines
Supervise all final inspection procedures
Complete quality control inspections on all jobs before leaving the Shop.
Train key technicians in hydraulics and calibrations.
Develop, Hire and fire shop technicians
After learning present practices, pursue best practices to improve shop through out.
Develop "Mobile Hydraulic Parts and Service Package" demonstrated by:
Establishing and marketing a hydraulic "Expertise"
Providing a higher level of customer service (municipal and commercial accounts)
Providing a quality control process for Shop jobs
The addition of a Service and Parts field service vehicle (Probably with a F 150 with topper or cover)Â This vehicle has tools necessary to meet the needs of a mobile service truck and a minimum number of parts needed for mobile hydraulic repairs.
Pro Active Municipal Sales Program
Visit as many municipal customers as possible during employee's first few weeks of employment. This objective would be to advise them of the company's commitment to Snow & Ice specialization (these would probably be joint calls with another management personnel)
Host training seminars for municipal customers (always asking "what can we do for you").
Develop business relationships by providing good reliable work products and services. Proactively develop service work and look for new business opportunities to utilize existing resources.
Qualifications:
Minimum Experience and Background:
Associates degree or equivalent job experience.
General knowledge of truck business (in dealership or as end user)
Welding experience is required.
Solid understanding of mobile hydraulics is strongly preferred.
Professional curiosity and ability to take on challenging assignments
Basic Microsoft office skills and the ability to define and implement systems
Experience in scheduling shop orders is required.
Ability to problem solve
Knowledge of truck equipment electrical systems is highly preferred
Safety conscious and strong organizational skills needed
Ability to work well with a diverse group of individuals and be motivated every day to work
Some experience with managing technicians is strongly preferred.Â
Preferred Experience (not required):
Experience in related truck upfitting.
Experience with Municipal fleet maintenance managers
Hours:
Approximately 7am - 4:30pm (some overtime is required for this role)
Pay:
Salary $ 50,000 to start, re-evaluate at 90 days. Bonus Program (based on company profits and personal performance) First year estimated earnings: $60-70k.
