Are You Going to Bed a Bit Wiser this Evening?

As with many people, the 2016 year seemed to just fly by!  While re-evaluating the year, I started to think about my own personal and professional growth and began asking myself some tough questions, yet found I did not have all the answers.  Big surprise?  No.  Therefore, I dug in and started to read more, watch webinars and immerse myself a bit each day.

It has been an interesting journey the past two months and I am committed to this ongoing learning process in 2017.  I already knew that our personal and professional lives often intertwine, especially with small business owners, but my soul has been re-energized with these basic but important reminders from Tai Lopez, Franziska Iseli and IsabelleDu Solei:

  • Each day, go to bed a little bit wiser than when you woke up.  It is easy to become comfortable with what we know, but it is more important to challenge yourself in areas that you are weaker in.  Take the opportunity to learn new things every day and you will be surprised at how much the world opens up around you.

  • As long as something moves you toward your goal, it cannot be a mistake or failure.  Things do not go as planned and we make errors.  However, view these as experiments to getting to where you want to be.  Learn to detach from the outcome, evaluate the experience and then move on.

  • Think through and meditate during stressful decisions.  It is helpful to ask yourself what the facts are in the situation, what is your perception of the problem, and what are your choices, responses, options and actions?  Often, people thrive on stress but instead, it is helpful to recondition our nervous system to find a new normal.  There is no need to live in a constant state of stimuli – just make a plan and stop wasting positive energy.

  • Truly know and understand your destiny and then you can build your life around it.  It is invigorating to love what you do and people will feel the energy and focus that you bring.

  • Ask yourself what are you doing today that will help prepare for better health, prosperity, and happiness in the future?  Whether it is going to the gym to build a stronger body, taking that accounting class to become more marketable, or putting an extra $150.00 in savings each month, preparing ahead will help you feel more in control during the tough times.

I am truly excited for my journey in 2017, both professionally and personally.  Do I have all the answers yet?  No, certainly not, but that is perfectly fine because I plan on waking up a bit wiser every day anyway.  Cheers… and make it a healthy, happy and successful 2017.
